What Is Antarctica?
Antarctica is the coldest, driest, windiest, and most isolated continent on Earth. More than 99% of Antarctica is covered with ice, this contains about 70% of the world’s fresh water. The thick ice cover makes it the highest of all the continents. Severe low temperatures vary. East Antarctica is colder than the West. Temperatures reach a minimum of between −80 °C and −90 °C in the interior in winter and reach a maximum of between 5 °C and 15 °C near the coast in summer. Sunburn is often a health issue as the snow surface reflects almost all of the ultraviolet light falling on it. Despite this humans still have the urge to visit this remote place. However this is extremely bad for Antarctica and in this website we will explain why. Don’t damage the only wilderness left not hurt by humans. Help save it and leave it only as an aspiration.
